      5th Annual "In Heels 2 Heal" 1 Mile Walk For Domestic Violence Awareness Month

      KAVA Talks  "In HEELS 2 HEAL:  (K.ommitment A.gainst V.iolence A.ltogether) is an annual event that Pacific Island Men and Allies walk 1 mile in high heels to stand with Women, Children and all victims to raise awareness for Domestic Violence Awareness month and to provide resources of community services. The 1st 50 people registered receive a KAVA Talks Heel 2 Heal Tshirt, a medal and complimentary ticket to Sugarhouse Queenz Domestic Violence Awareness Concert at Impact Hub that evening.  Suggested donation of $20.00 per participant or you can trade or volunteer time for free. Males bring or borrow your favorite High Heels (we have some to choose from) and walk 1 mile through the International Peace Gardens along the Jordan River to 900 W to raise awareness of Domestic Violence! Join KAVA Talks, the EmpowHERment Talk Story Spaces and the University of Utah Health Plans and and many other organizations for a light hearted event to help raise about a very serious community issue that effects all. Walk as a group to represent your Company, Organization, Family, and or Friends.  Bring Posters of Survivors and loved ones lost to Domestic Violence. Wear purple!  Thank you to the City of Salt Lake's ACE fund and WCF Insurance for their sponsorship, for being part of the solution of Domestic Violence with us. Blister Sisters and Diva Dogs are all encouraged to walk along side the men that are walking in HEELS 2 HEAL! Fun Awards are given out after the walk.  Hot Stepper for the fastest in Heels by University of Utah Neighborhood Partners, Tower Award for the person that wears the highest heels by Rape Recovery, the Stride Award for the most unusual walk, Mr Aloha Award by the EmpmowHERment Group and KAVA Talks Award!
