      SALTSTACK ENTERPRISE I The SaltStack Enterprise I training course provides an IT professional the fundamental skills needed to manage the SaltStack Enterprise infrastructure. PREREQUISITES System administration experience OVERVIEW The course begins with the installation, configuration, creating targets and use of remote execution modules for basic SaltStack Enterprise management. It then builds on those concepts with the implementation of Salt states. The Salt states sections include creating SLS files and state trees, setting requisites and declarations, and using the default YAML and Jinja renderers. There is instruction on utilizing Salt grains, pillars in state files, setting up RBAC in the Enterprise console, specific Windows modules and the Enterprise API. Additional topics include Salt runners, reactors, beacons, and orchestration. OFFERING All students are provided: A digital course training manual (PDF) A Salt cloud environment for hands-on labs during training When offered privately onsite or virtually the training follows the 3-day format.   COURSE SECTIONS Introduction Salt Concepts and Terminology Installation and Configuration Targeting Remote Execution and Job Management Basic States Requisites and Declarations Using Jinja with Salt Windows Specific Modules Salt Orchestration Reactors and Beacons Security in SaltStack Enterprise Security Scans SaltStack Enterprise API (eAPI) Salt Cloud COURSE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS The technical requirements for SaltStack Training are: Video Conference If attending remotely, we typically use Zoom for remote attendees. If an alternative video conferencing technology is used, technical requirements will be given.  Labs Each student will be given a group of Linux and Windows virtual machines hosted in the Amazon cloud.
